BrainCanDo Prefects deliver interactive revision workshop
Queen Anne School Psychology A-Level students and BrainCanDo Prefects, Charlotte W (U6) and Charlotte C (U6), delivered an interactive revision workshop to year 9 (U4) students today.
Underpinned by strong neuroscientific evidence from BrainCanDo, the interactive workshop focused on the importance of sleep, effective revision techniques and managing exam stress.
The workshop facilitated the exchange of information and useful advice on the best ways to prepare for exams and provided an opportunity for students to gain support and guidance from their fellow students at Queen Anne’s School.
Commenting on the revision workshop, Dr Amy Fancourt, Head of Psychology at Queen Anne’s School and BrainCanDo Research Lead said; ‘As Prefects, they work with BrainCanDo assisting the further integration of BrainCanDo work and ethos through delivering workshops for younger pupils both at Queen Anne’s School and other local schools. They delivered a really informative workshop today, offering important peer support through relating to the girls on their level.’
Speaking after the workshop, some of the U4 students from the audience shared their thoughts, with revision techniques and the constructive use of phone apps being some of the most popular aspects of the workshop;
‘I found the information on different revision techniques really useful, and I’ll be using these to study for my future tests; especially with balancing revising several subjects at the same time.’
Another student commented; ‘I was really pleased to see information on usual study apps included in the workshops, everybody has a phone and to be able to use them to support studies is great.’
