Our students and their parents now understand that whilst adolescence can be a challenging time in a young person’s life, it is also an incredibly exciting period when the brain is going through a period of ‘exuberance’, when new pathways are being formed in the brain.
Adolescence prepares the brain for the demands of adulthood, ready to emerge as a lean, keen, thinking machine to equip the young mind for a happy and fulfilled adulthood. Only then will our young people become capable of evaluating risks (and taking them without fear when appropriate!) and of making good and ethical decisions, ready to become model citizens! And, most importantly, to become happy and successful individuals who know who they are and how to get the best from themselves.
